“….the belief that war is merely senseless is a failure to ask the right questions. The right questions are – ‘Who profits from it?’ and ‘How?’ “ -Richard Duffee
Poet Richard Duffee has a uniquely informed perspective. He holds a degree in philosophical psychology from the University of Chicago, one in English from SUNY, and a third in law from Pace, where he also earned certificates in international and environmental law.
Raised in a Quaker town in a family traumatized by war, and with most of his male relatives committed to the military, Mr. Duffee was brought up as a Unitarian in a congregation that Martin Luther King Jr frequently addressed. He has lived and taught in India, and is the Green Party Candidate for Congress in the 4th district.
Yuganta Press will be releasing his new book of poetry titled “The Slow News of Need” later this month. He will be reading from it at Curley’s Diner in Stamford, Saturday, 10/25 at 4pm.
