Alice-Anne is an accomplished singer-songwriter, poet and emerging playwright. She’s also the charismatic Festival Director for CTFolk , where live music joins with educational events and environmental stewardship. And she lends her soaring vocals to a fabulous new duo called the The Woulds. (There will be music as well as poetry…) If that weren’t enough she is also is special events and workshop coordinator for Poetry Institute New Haven and a member of the Shijin poetry troupe. About The Woulds from TheWoulds.com:
Connecticut’s notorious Robert Messore and the infectious Alice-Anne Harwood have stumbled into an unexpected collaboration: The Woulds, featuring harmonies that fit like your favorite pajamas, intelligent song writing and a heavy dose of mischief. Colossal vocals, visceral guitars — ask them about membership in their mutual admiration society! See them at music venues throughout New Haven.

May 18, 2011 – Workshop

May 18 – Found Poem Workshop

Sometimes the best poems aren’t written, they’re discovered,” asserts host Derek Crofut, who featured last week. He will be running a found poetry workshop on May 18th. “We’ll explore the accidentally poetic sources of normally mundane texts, with the ambitions of stringing together snips of image and phrase to create something beautiful.   Source texts will be provided.   Bring a pair of scissors and an open mind,” Derek says.

Due to “copyright considerations” The Found Poem Review only considers poem submissions that contain information about the source materials used to create the poem so note your sources!
